HISTORIC ANNAPOLIS WALKING TOUR

Experience the history, beauty, and architecture of colonial Annapolis

Take a pleasant and easy walking tour through the beautiful historic center of Annapolis. The colonial heart of the city offers grand buildings on narrow, brick streets in the backdrop of the picturesque city dock and harbor. The Georgian architecture of the great mansions, the iconic Maryland State House, the Beaux Arts architecture of the U.S. Naval Academy set the stage for fascinating stories about a city small in size, but big in impact.

We'll walk along the city dock to view the
harbor, and Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis' gateway to the wider world. We'll explore the sites where the Treaty of Paris was signed (bringing to a conclusion the Revolutionary War) and where General Washington resigned his commission as Commander-in-Chief, thus becoming the "greatest man in the world" and the "American Cincinnatus." We'll visit the campuses of two institutes of higher learning that have shaped American culture: the United States Naval Academy and St. John's College.

Your guide will also share personal and family stories along the way, to add a personal dimension to our tour. Questions and special touring requests are always welcome!
